As soon as you arrive you’ll notice that everything is in test tubes and the employees wear lab coats. Did you ever see that episode of Masterchef where Heston Blumenthal showed them all this really cool, fast way of making ice cream using dry ice? Well, that’s how this gelato is made!
On my first visit I got a rhubarb gelato with slivers of almond in it. It had a mild but delicious flavour, and you could taste the real rhubarb – it wasn’t all syrupy like a lot of commercial places, and the almond added an interesting crunch. :) The second time I got Banoffee, a delicious banana and toffee flavour combination, with delicious caramel sauce on top! You can taste the real banana, it's amazing. I've also tried the Pretzella - nutella gelato with pieces of pretzels. The saltiness actually is perfect with the chocolate, and the pretzel pieces stay crunchy all the way through - no sogginess at all. Yum! Another flavour also on offer at the time was maple flavour with bacon... sounds awful to me, but it's very popular. Their flavours are varied to suit every gelato fan! One scoop is $6 – they don’t even list a price for two scoops, because you just won’t need more than one. It's just a short walk from Town Hall Station, so if you're in the area make sure you check it out!
